Review – Oxford Essential Arabic Dictionary (English-Arabic, Arabic-English)
By Adil James
This is Oxford University Press’s English-Arabic dictionary.
The book is a handy size, not a tome. It is less than 400 pages long, and approximately 5″ X 9″. The perfect size to adorn a bookshelf without overburdening it.
We were sent this review copy by Oxford University Press with the agreement that we would write a fair review.
The dictionary has been useful to the TMO office staff–we have used it to look up unfamiliar Arabic words. Beyond that it is just a dictionary, and while it appears to be a good one it is difficult to write a review about a dictionary.
I plan to keep this dictionary handy, and I don’t plan to buy another dictionary to replace it, so that is about as good an endorsement as I can give.
