Monir Ahmed Lauded for Services to Students
MERCED,CA–Monir Ahmed, assistant vice-chancellor for Business and Financial services at YC-Merced, was profiled in the Sacramento Bee newspaper for going out of his way to help and guide students. He helps the students in a variety of ways including helping them with finding accomadation, organizing events, among several other things. He also works in the larger community by start Family and Community Circle, a local social serv- ices nonprofit geared toward establishing relationships between immigrant families and the local community.
That is not all. He also serves as an advisor to the Muslim Students Association as well as other student groups on campus, including one that’s trying to set up a free clinic in South Merced to serve the uninsured. Monir Ahmed is a true inspiration of a life full of service to humanity.
