Franck Ribery to Return to Action

Bayern Munich Muslim midfielder Franck Ribery has been out since late September with a torn ligament in his right ankle, but he is expected to reach full fitness by mid-November at the earliest.

Bayern sporting director Christian Nerlinger commented on the status of the French international, telling Yahoo Sports, “It is assumed he will be back in training next week and then we’ll see how long it takes for him to be operational again. He has worked very well during his recovery and I think we will see him on the pitch again in the near future.”

Bayern were champions of the German Bundesliga last year. But they have been hit hard by injuries this season, including that to Ribery and Dutch star Arjen Robben. As a result, Bayern sit in 11th place at the moment.
