Fahad Rashid to receive award
BOONTON,NJ–Fahad Rashid, an eighth grade student at the John Hill Elementary School, will be honored with a leadership award in May. The award is given each year by the Morris County Association of School Administrators to students who have demonstrated leadership, have a high level of academic achievement, and have shown a commitment to their community, according to a press release.
“Fahad has consistently demonstrated good character throughout his time in the Boonton School District. He is a positive role model in school and in the community with his spirit of volunteerism as well as his leadership,” said Christine Maier, school guidance counselor.
He is currently the student council president and served as vice president last school year. He has received numerous awards at John Hill School, including the Citizenship Award, Spanish Award, Writing Award, Leader of the Month, and Perfect Attendance Award, as well as achieving Master High Honor Roll. Contributing to the community, he volunteers his time at the Boonton Holmes Public Library and works with the youth group at the Jam-e-Masjid Islamic Center.
