Eighth grader to receive leadership award
BOONTON,NJ–Fahad Rashid, an eighth grader at John Hill Elementary School in Boonton, has been named the recipient of Morris County Middle School Leadership Award. The award honors eighth graders who have demonstrated leadership, have a high level of academic achievement, and have shown a commitment to their community.
Rashid has an impressive track record at the school as well as in the community. He is the current school president and has previously received several awards including the citizenship award, Spanish award, writing award, leader of the month.
He also volunteers at the public library and the Jame Masjid.
“Fahad has consistently demonstrated good character throughout his time in the Boonton School District. He is a positive role model in school and in the community with his spirit of volunteerism as well as his leadership,” said Christine Maier, school guidance counselor, in comments published at the Boonton Public Schools website.
