Israel is waging a war of deception against Lebanon by lying to the world on why she is doing it. The central assertion by the Israeli government about Hezbollah crossing Lebanese border, raiding Israeli territory, killing one soldier and kidnapping two soldiers is a lie and a fabrication. The Israeli fabricated news was accepted without any verification by the western media and the international media followed suite. None of the news sources used by the western media checked the news release by Hezbollah conducted journalistic authentication of the news before its release – an unprofessional bias towards Israeli news.

The Lebanese Shiite Hezbollah movement announced on Wednesday (July 12th) that its guerrillas had captured two Israeli soldiers in southern Lebanon.

“Implementing our promise to free Arab prisoners in Israeli jails, our strugglers have captured two Israeli soldiers in southern Lebanon,” a statement by Hezbollah said.

“The two soldiers have already been moved to a safe place,” it added.

The Lebanese police said that the two soldiers were captured as they “infiltrated” into the town of Aitaa al-Chaab inside the Lebanese border.

Israel’s Weapons of Mass Deception

Israel is waging a war of deception not only against Lebanon and the Palestinian people by using fabricated news and against the United Nations by violating its charter and indiscriminately massacring civilians.

Let’s reconstruct the events:

Israeli forces cross the border into Lebanon. Hezbollah has skirmish with the Israeli soldiers – one gets killed, two are captured. Israel cries out claiming that Hezbollah raided Israel and kidnapped two Israeli soldiers. Israel demands that the two “kidnapped” soldiers be retuned. To which Hezbollah responds – how about releasing the many prisoners in Israeli jails, including women and children. Israel declares that she has every right to take appropriate measures to free the “kidnapped” Israeli soldiers. Israel’s most “appropriate measures” are unleashing its might on the defenseless and militarily mismatched Lebanon. Israel’s target is not the rocket launchers being used by Hezbollah but power plants, airport runways, fuel storage tanks, apartment buildings, etc. The rocket launchers that have a range of 3-4 miles are not considered to be a threat but all civilian infrastructure items are a threat. Hezbollah armed men are not considered a threat but the women and children are. In the process, Israel is strategically willing to sacrifice a few of her citizens and instruments of comfort.

Israel has found its weapon of mass destruction—the two kidnapped soldiers being held somewhere in Lebanon.

The Israeli propaganda of “kidnapped soldiers” is as good as United States’ assertions of WMD to invade Iraq. The agenda of Israeli war against its neighbors is to destroy the infrastructure, cripple their economies and destroy any force that may even think of challenging the Zionist interests in the region. Israel is dreaming of becoming the virtual master of the Middle East. She will use its influence on the US government and the western media as and when needed to perpetuate the brutal oppression and injustice on the Arabs—the gentiles of the apartheid structure of Zionism.
