The Next David Beckham?

Manchester United Football Club, know for its keen eye for talent, has once again purchased a young starlet in the hopes of cultivating their talent into a world-class player. This week they purchased Belgian attacking midfielder Adnan Januzaj from Anderlecht in the Belgian league, for the reported price of 550,000 British pounds. The 16-year-old Januzaj is of Kosovar origin but was born in Belgium. He reportedly signed a four year contract worth 10,000 euros per month. Januzaj had previously been linked with other clubs in Europe, including Aston Villa of the English Premier League, and Lille of France’s Ligue 1. And even before the young playmaker’s next destination was known to be Manchester United he had already been dubbed “the next David Beckham” in Belgium. Talk about a self-fulfilling prophecy.
