Local Doctor Syed Taj Swears in as Canton Township Trustee
Dr. Syed Taj was sworn in as the newly elected trustee of the Canton Township on November 20, 2008 at 12:30 PM. Taj’s race was most notable because of the fact that it indicates changing demographics in the once-bright-red Canton district.
All of the above winning candidates appeared at the Canton candidate open house on August 1, 2008 at the MCWS mosque.
From left they are: former FBI agent John Anthony, Businessman Pat Williams, the judge who performed the swearing in ceremony, Dr. Syed Taj, a court clerk, and at far right is Todd Caccamo, a reelected incumbent.
Dr. Taj’s term expires in 2012.
