Faculty Award for Dr. Shamim Khan
COLUMBUS, GA–Dr. Shamim Khan, a professor of computer science at Combus State University, was awarded the faculty service award at its annual awards ceremony. The award recognizes those members of our faculty who have contributed outstanding professional service to the university and/or the community, according to a press release.
Dr. Khan has taught Computer Science at a number of universities in Asia, Australia and the US. He is currently a Professor at the TSYS School of Computer Science at Columbus State University, Georgia. Apart from computer vision, his current research interests include the application of artificial intelligence techniques for knowledge representation and decision support and Computer Science education. He has more than thirty-five publications in refereed journals and conference proceedings. He was the Principal Investigator for a $1.5 million DoD contract awarded to CSU in 2011.
