Executive Director Position
POSITION: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Muslim Community Center Inc, Chicago seeks to employ a qualified and highly motivated Executive Director
Muslim Community Center (MCC) is one of the oldest Islamic Centers established in Chicago since 1969. Currently, MCC has two locations: one in Chicago and the other in Morton Grove (Muslim Education Center (MEC), a full- time Islamic School from PreK-8th grade). MCC has an elected 24 member Board. MCC community consists of members from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Africa, Middle East and America.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for the overall successful management and operations of the organization. Under the direction of the MCC Board, this individual will be responsible for the development of the strategic plan for the MCC. Additionally, ED should be able to:
Â· Work with committees / dept. heads / administration to manage the vendor selection for MCC projects and to minimize projects / task delays.
Â· Assist in finding potential donors, and coordinate fund raising activities.
Â· Recruit and hire staff.
Â· Communicate with inter and intra faith groups.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The candidate must have:
Â· Good moral character and be a practicing Muslim.
Â· Skills to effectively communicate, manage employees, work with board of directors, media and publically represent MCC.
Â· Excellent written and interpersonal skills and competence in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Â· Eight-10 years supervisory experience in operational business or consulting with a well established organization specifically in the non-for-profit entities.
Â· Bachelorâ€™s degree in Religious studies / Business Administration. Masterâ€™s degree is a plus.
Â· US residency or citizenship.
Â· Salary will be negotiated based on experience and qualifications.
