Death of Ahmad Raza

It is with profound and deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of Mr Ahmad Raza of Washington DC.
Mr. Raza was hospitalized suffering from emphysema, and pneumonia from which he never recovered in spite of all medical efforts.
Mr Ahmad Raza was a very distinguished Indian Muslim. After many years of recognized service In India as a senior manager at the Reserve Bank of India, Bombay, he moved to Washington DC as a senior manager representing India at the International Monetary Fund.
He retired from the IMF a few years ago and settled down in metro Washington DC.
Aside from being a very well-educated and successful senior officer in the government of India and at the IMF, Mr Raza worked throughout his life to uplift the Indian Muslim community by developing programs to improve education among the youth in the community. He was an ardent and dedicated social activist who did his very best to make the Indian Muslim youth become competitive with others by excelling in higher education.
Mr Ahmad Raza was from a very distinguished Indian Muslim family. He was the younger brother of Dr. Masoom Rahi Raza (the illustrious Urdu poet and storywriter) and Dr Moonis Raza (Vicechancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) New Delhi).
