Washington–Before the fall of the socialist nations, I wondered what would take over to oppose the Unipolar (i.e., the Capitalist or First ‘World’). I decided it would be Fundamentslism(s) – note the parenthetic plural.
Well, that has happened: whether it is among the Sikhs, the Hindus, the Christians or the Buddhists et al. is to react to Post-Modernism, which sees the world in perpetual flux with no foundation, in an overly simplistic and naïve manner. What a fundamentalism does is to go back to a “medieval” version of its religious development to find a fixture and a solidified cosmos.
Because the attraction of the faith was its simplicity when it came out of the Arabian Peninsula in comparison to its competitors: “There is no God but Allah and Mohammed (s) is his Prophet!” Thus, the Islamic fundamental goes no further than the basis of that revelation, and fails to see the deeper meaning of his faith, or that there even are other valid articulations of that belief than his own. Subsequently, the Other (from them) is to be repressed. Consequently, we are seeing the raise of DAASH, and in their misunderstandings are dashing their fellow believers.
From that one goes into the depths of the religion, Isis (as I’ve seen it spelled in England), though, sees the outer austerity of belief without its inner complexity. The soldiers in ISIL come mainly out of the Salafi denomination who try to live their lives as in the immediate period around the Hegira. The only thing that can be questioned about that is the devotee must go into the contemporary with his soul centered upon the epiphanies of a sacrosanct past.
A Takfiri is one who damns an other or another denomination(s). Very often they will break Koranic or Sharia such as eating pork or drinking liquor: Most dramatically fighting with suicidal tactics. Succinctly, they are heretics! For them, the ends justify the means. Further, these ends are apostasy.
If one reads the interpretations from the revered books you can see how skewed the Takfiri’s interpretation can be. They will give a passage for a reason for an atrocity, but, if they would read into the next paragraph, their analysis would be negated.
Succinctly, this War is for the spirit and future of Islam in the Middle East. This ghastly heresy must be stopped in the MENA (Middle East/North Africa) region to keep Dar al-Islam inviolate of the mercenaries’ crimes!
The conclusion to this paper, came from a symposium in Washington D.C, — put together by the Study of Islam and Democracy — is providing the foundation for the last segment of the first chapter of a contemplated monograph on an exploration of/for this horrible conflict. In it orthodox and hetero-orthodox Islam are shown to be in conflict…
One statement from the panel to a question, “[Our counter-] violence [attack] should be couched with reconciliation.” This brings up an essay your contributor wrote a dozen years ago, “The Spirit of Terrorism,” in which — as an academician – he stated that no person would give up his future lifespan in suicidal terrorism if s/he had hope to live a meaningful existence. This would definitely be promoted by financial expansion in the areas from which many of these hordes come. We should “… use assistance leverage.” As U.S. General Martin Dempsey, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, has said that development must develop out of the destruction of battle.
We, Muslim and non-Muslim, should be on our guard for a counter-attack in light of the current estimate of 200,000 QSIS troops. They have become “the U.N. of terror.” Already Australia has broken up an attempt of an attack. Canada has suffered deaths at two of their most sacred institutions – the Tomb of their Unknown Soldier and their Parliament itself!.
Tersely, though, “We need action!” This is an ideological confrontation of criminality.
Importantly, “Israel should be discouraged” from making matters worse!” Namely — but not only — what they are doing, at the Temple Mount, etc. The festering sore for the Middle East and the whole Islamic world, is that disparate and ethnic alien entity in the midst of the Islamic Arab Middle East. They have upset a whole culture and a religious balance that plainly worked.
Much of the deeper support for DAASH has arisen out of this situation. Further, for other more immediate causes we must look back into the recent past in Gaza and the overthrow of the (Muslim) Brotherhood in Egypt. The second chapter in this project will come from the Palestinian viewpoint.
There should be a tighter and closer co-operation and co-ordination between the leadership not only in North America, Europe but Australasia et al. to discourage recruitment for (violent) jihad.
Some assurance to my audience: Expert opinion is that our audience is well-integrated to their native or adoptive country in America (unlike elements in Britain and France). In other words, officially sanctioned Islamophobia should be discouraged during the immediate unfolding period in the States.
