Mohammed Ahmed Inches Closer to Olympics
MADISON,WI–Mohammed Ahmed, the University of Wisconsin junior, has qualified for the London Olympics with a record run.
He met the Olympic qualifying time in the 10-thousand meters at the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational during the weekend in Palo Alto California.
Ahmed ran a career-best 27-minutes, 34-point-64 seconds, and he finished sixth. He’s a native of Canada – and to make the Olympic team, he must still qualify at the Canadian Olympic Trials which begin June 27th in Calgary.
