Jewish Community Center Interfaith

West Bloomfield–February 16–The Interfaith Leadership Council sponsored a meeting at the Jewish Community Center on Drake Rd. in West Bloomfield.  This meeting was headed by David Crumm, a celebrated author who served as a journalist for more than 20 years, most recently as Religion Writer for the Detroit Free Press. He retired from his newspaper in December of 2007.

Now Mr. Crumm serves as the Editor of ReadTheSpirit—an online magazine covering religion, spirituality, and popular culture. ReadTheSpirit recommends the best in books, films, Web sites and other media on spirituality, values and diversity.

The meeting this past Thursday was headed by Crumm but attended by members of many different faith groups at the beautiful JCC.  The circular layout of the seats mirrored the approach of the meeting, in which all parties gave explanations of their work and faith; Jews, Bahais, Christians, Muslims and others were present.  Present were several Muslims, including TMO representatives.
