HESSA Provides Unique Modest Fashion Choices for Muslims
Zainab Iqbal-Khan and Romana Ahmed Zaman of Hessa.Com organized their first Spring 2009 Trunk Show this past Saturday at the Marriot Sugar Land. Their motto is: “Beauty and Elegance…Inspired Always by Islamâ€. They have latest shimmering fashions for both working Muslim Women and those, who are home-makers; as well as Silk-Less Ties for Muslim Me. Their products include Poncho; Tunics; Hijabs and much more.
“Hessa was initiated in 2007 by two friends (Zainab Iqbal-Khan and Romana Ahmed Zaman), inspired by their own personal need for clothing choices that fuse style and modesty. Women, who desire the latest high fashion clothing, but wish to observe modesty, have limited choices out there in mainstream marketplace. Hessa hopes to fill this void and strike a perfect balance between fashion and modesty. Their goal is to offer style without compromising modesty. Hessa also offers unique Islamic art and decor to beautify the home.â€

“Our store opened six months ago. It is perfectly suited for its purpose – It is an unconventional commercial space that offers everything that I envisioned. The browsing room I imagined is there, along with the classroom/meeting room. Well-Worn armchairs from the thrift shops have made the browsing room inviting. The time, energy, donations and prayers of the community have made it possibleâ€: These were some of the sentiments shared by Ruth Nasrullah.
