FARMINGTON,MI–The American Federation of Muslims of Indian Origin
(AFMI) is deeply sadenned by the passing away of Eng. Irfanullah Saheb of Faizabad, a visionary educationist & self-less community worker. The entire AFMI organization considers his death a personal loss. We pray that Allah (swt) grant him maghfirah and patience and perseverance to his family, friends, and colleagues.
Irfanullah Saheb’s association with AFMI goes back to 1998 when he attended its international convention in Aligarh commemorating the anniversary of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan. He was greatly impressed by AFMI objective of 100% literacy and invited its members to visit Faizabad.
In 1999 AFMI started its Faizabad project with providing help for two schools. In the following years AFMI has supported in the establishment of a further twenty four schools. It goes to Irfanullah Saheb’s vision and the hard work of his team members that two high schools and a girl’s college was also established in the area. AFMI members had the privilege to inaugurate one of these schools a few years back.
Irfanullah Saheb was a true believer in AFMI’s mission of 100% literacy and we are confident that this relationship with continue with the Faiz-e-Aam Muslim Educational Society under the leadership of Akhtar Siddiqui Saheb.
