Enhance Your Humanity

“Behold! We said to the angels; ‘bow down to Adam.’ They bowed down except Iblis: He (Iblis) said: “shall I bow down to one whom thou didst create from clay?…63: (ALLAH) said: “Go thy way. If any of them follow thee, Surely Hell will be the end of you all – an ample compensation. 64: Lead to destruction those whom thou canst among them, with thy (seductive) voice, make assaults on them with thy cavalry and thy infantry: mutually share with them wealth and children; and make promises to them. But Satan promises them nothing but deceitful lies. 65: As for My servants, no authority shall thou have over them.” Enough is thy Lord for a disposer of affairs.”

Qur’an 61-65

Are you feeling despondent, dejected, inadequate, inferior? Do you have low self-esteem? Do you feel that everybody is above you or better than you? Are you a male or female subjected to spousal abuse? Do you have feelings of racial superiority or inferiority? Are these negatives a part of your thinking and you want to get rid of them?

Well, here’s good news. It’s easy to do. Since the beginning of mankind’s creation, we have been equipped with the tremendous power of our humanity. It is innate in us since the creation of Adam when ALLAH ordered all creation to be in obeisance to him.

Everything submitted except that one rebellious one, Iblis, who became Satan. There is no hope for this satanic mindset. ALLAH (and Satan) lets us know that he will never submit to the truth of Adam’s superiority. Sometimes, if we’re not careful, this relentless onslaught weakens us and he (Satan) can make us feel inferior and useless.

This is the time to jump into high gear and Enhance your Humanity. We believe in the Most High Creator and everything He says about us. The only thing lacking most times is putting it into practice. When Satan pushes himself up while pushing you down, he is doing it with lies – for he is the father of lies.

In verse 64 above, ALLAH lets us know the many ways Satan plans to deceive us. He says he can use a smooth voice, scare you with his paid companions, even inter-marry and infiltrate your family. Satan also says in Qur’an that he does this in the light – on ALLAH’S Straight Path. Don’t expect him to constantly stay in the dark as he comes at you. He knows you would never associate with him if he stood around with his horns showing all the time. He fools you by pretending his sole purpose is for good.

But we can defeat him and put him back in his place. Remember, you (Adam’s child) are the boss. ALLAH loves you and has given you prominence. Every human being is a prince or princes in their own right. Just look at your good qualities. Look at the greatness that you, and you alone posses (and every one of us has some uniqueness and greatness in us that sets us apart from other people). Look at that greatness. Enhance that uniqueness. Doing that will lessen the effect Satan can have on you.

The Most High, All Powerful Creator is who we should focus on. Anybody who tells you are nothing is Satan. And Satan is your enemy.
