USCIS Detroit District Office is Moving

Editor’s note: The following press release from the US Customs and Immigration Service indicates that the Detroit immigration office is moving to a “spacious and state-of-the-art†new facility.
DETROIT—The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Detroit District office is moving this week to its brand new location at 11411 E. Jefferson, Detroit, Michigan, 48214. To facilitate the move and to prepare our customers with relevant information on how they may continue to obtain services, USCIS has developed the following schedule:
• USCIS District Office located at 333 Mount Elliott will be closed the week of March 9, 2009 and the week of March 16, 2009. The USCIS District Office will reopen at the new address 11411 E Jefferson Detroit MI 48214 on Monday March 23, 2009;
• USCIS District InfoPass Office located at 260 Mount Elliott (yellow building) for InfoPass appointments will be closed the week of March 9, 2009. The InfoPass Office will reopen at the new address 11411 E Jefferson, Detroit MI 48214 on Monday March 16, 2009 for appointments and emergencies;
• Application Support Center (ASC) will be co-located at the new USCIS District Office location. Beginning Monday March 30, 2009 customers who have Biometric appointments will be served by ASC staff at 11411 E. Jefferson, Detroit MI 48214.
The new District Office will provide a full range of Immigration Benefits under one roof, including the Application Support Center and a Naturalization Ceremony room. The design of the two-story office provides a welcoming, secure environment for both USCIS employees and visitors seeking immigration services and benefits. Ample parking spaces are available for USCIS customers, and public transportation is located immediately adjacent to the site.
