Russell Jones Is The Man Of Slam Dunk: Abdul Qayyum Describes City of Sugar Land Mayoral Candidate

The third best city to live in USA Sugar Land is going to have mayoral and city council elections on May 10th – 2008. One of the leading candidates in the three persons’ mayoral race is present City Councilman Russell Jones. Due to his vast 27 years plus recent experience as city councilman, many feel Russell Jones is a good candidate to lead Sugar Land to further prosperity.

Recently Friends of Russell Jones gathered at the Sugar Creek Country Club to show their support for his candidacy. Master of Ceremonies was Marshall Whichard of T. Marshall Consultant. He recognized the presence of Rick Miller, Chairman the Republican Party of Fort Bend County; Bob Hebert Fort Bend County Judge; Milton Wright Sheriff Fort Bend County; Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of USA was performed by Army Veteran Mike Casey. Other than the community media, present on this occasion from Pakistan Community were Haroon Shaikh CPA, Asif Khan and Abdul Qayyum.

Words of Wisdom were said by Abdul Qayyum, President of Leadership and Empowerment Institute. He called Russell Jones as the Man of Slam Dunk: “S” Straight Forward & Sharp; “”L” Knows how to leverage talents and resources around him, meaning true leader; “A” Positive Attitude; “M” Making a Difference; “D” Dry Passion; “U” Understanding; “N” Nourishment; and “K” Knowledge. He said in America we take care of calories in our food, while there are millions worldwide who are thinking when the next food will arrive. As such we need to be very grateful for all these blessings and in order to preserve this; we need to elect upright leaders like Russell Jones to various public offices.

Russell Jones started his presentation with good words for his daughter Stephanie Stigant and wife Thelma Jones, which shows his strong family values. His daughter is not only his office manager at the city, but also his campaign manger. He said he wants to concentrate on grassroots level campaign, where meeting maximum number of people and shaking hands with them, is important. That is why his foremost issue is families and providing them the best possible life style: Safe Environment; good parks and side walks; organizing cultural events and that is why he worked hard for Museum of Natural Sciences to come to Sugar Land as well; etc. He has always spoken my mind for the general population of Sugar Land and will continue to do that. He needs people at grassroots levels to come forward with their talent, money and time to assist him in preserving the good status of Sugar Land.
