Dr. Ahmad Sakr Wins Lifetime Award

The Islamic Shura Council of Southern California is pleased to announce its 2013 Lifetime Service Award to Dr. Ahmad Sakr.

For more than five decades Dr. Sakr has continually served Muslim communities in the United States and Canada. His contributions include establishing communities, helping Masajid, schools, social and relief agencies, among other organizations. In addition, Dr. Sakr has authored more than fifty books on variety of subjects that continues to benefit people across the country.

“Dr. Sakr is a giant of our time,” said Dr. Muzammil Siddiqi, Chairman of the Islamic Shura Council. To celebrate his lifetime of service, the Islamic Shura Council will honor Dr. Ahmad Sakr as the recipient of its 2013 Lifetime Service Award and invite everyone to join the celebration on March 9th at Hilton Anaheim.

Past recipients of Shura Council’s Lifetime Service Award are; Imam Haroon Abdullah, Imam Abdul-Karim Hasan, Imam Saadiq Saafir, Dr. Hassan Hathout, Hj. Muhammad Dakhil, Hj. Abdul Qader Najjar and Br. Khalil Momand.
