Ken O’Keefe, a veteran humanitarian activist and the keynote speaker at the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) banquet, will be on his 30th and final day of a hunger strike when he attends the event. He will break his fast during the course of the evening.
Ken initiated his fast in solidarity with Palestinian prisoners, political prisoners whose only crime was to protest without mitigation the Israeli siege and occupation of their homeland.
“It is simply something I felt I must do†said Ken. Families of those imprisoned have called for worldwide attention and worldwide action.
Ken is a resident of Gaza and has undertaken many humanitarian projects. He is also a survivor of the Mavi Marmara.
The PCRF has stated: “His voice will be weaker: his message will be strongerâ€.
The PCRF is one of the world’s largest children’s charities and serves children of the Middle East at no cost to their families. More information may be obtained from accessing their web site at: www.pcrf.net.
The banquet will take place at the Anaheim Hilton in Anaheim on October 13th at 6:00. Tickets are $100 per person. For information on tickets, please telephone: (562) 432-0005 or access web site:
