Fazal Merchant New DIRECTV VP

EL SEGUNDO,CA–Fazal Merchant, a University of Texas alumni, has been named vice president and treasurer of Directv, one of the world’s leading provider of digital entertainment services, according to a company press release.

In his previous position, Merchant served as managing director and group head. Prior to that, he spent seven years advising clients on strategy, financing, and risk solutions in the Investment Banking Division at Barclays Capital as managing director. He also spent nine years at Ford Motor Company in various treasury and finance management positions across functions in the U.S. and Europe.

Merchant holds a degree in Finance from the University of Texas and an MBA from Indiana University.
